A catch-all functionality that is enabled for a given mailbox will permit you to receive email messages that are sent to email addresses that do not really exist. In other words, if you deactivate an email address and someone still sends a message to it, or to any miswritten address under the exact same domain, you will receive the message in the catch-all mailbox. Using this feature implies that you will no longer miss an email for any reason, which could be vital in case you are running some company, for instance. Since you may start receiving spam, you can combine the catch-all feature with anti-spam filters in order to get only legitimate messages in your inbox. Just one single mailbox per domain can be a catch-all one and email forwarding cannot be activated for a catch-all mailbox.
Catch-all Emails in Shared Web Hosting
You will be able to configure a catch-all e-mailbox easily if you have a shared web hosting plan with us. The Email Manager in our in-house created Hepsia Control Panel is feature-rich, yet astonishingly simple to use, and it will enable you to enable various features, including the catch-all one, with only a few mouse clicks. All the mailboxes that you have will be displayed alphabetically in this section and on the right-hand side of each one you will notice a tiny "Catch-all" symbol. Clicking it once will enable the feature, clicking it twice will deactivate it. Since you can have only one such mailbox per domain, our system will warn you if you’ve already got another mailbox with this feature activated or if you have activated email forwarding.
Catch-all Emails in Semi-dedicated Hosting
A catch-all address can be created with a few clicks in case you’ve got a Linux semi-dedicated hosting with us. The hosting account will be administered through our custom-created Hepsia hosting Control Panel and you’ll be able to create mailboxes with any domain hosted here. To activate the catch-all feature for a certain mailbox, you will need to click the icon with the same name, which will be on the right side of each mailbox. Deactivating this functionality can be accomplished in the same fashion and will not require more than one click either. In case the catch-all functionality has already been activated for a given domain name, you will get a warning text message. The same goes if the mailbox that you want to be a catch-all one has email forwarding enabled, as our system will never disable or alter anything automatically.
